K2 F.I.T. Ice Pro Mens Ice Skates

Was tired of skating in circles at the local rink with my long blade touring skates - used to live in Montana and take 15+ mile skates on the open lakes. Started searching for a comfort boot style skate with excellent ankle support and a shorter blade. Was able to find these skates in my size - last one - for $10 less than elsewhere. Probably due to being a return order - as I noted via one of the box labels - but nothing notable for wear or tear. They had not been skated in, probably just sent back after not fitting. Only one shipping skate guard had been removed. Ordered my size 9 (42) that was accurate and fit nicely. Took about an hour to feel in control on the ice as I have never worn hockey style skates before. Skates are very comfortable while providing the support that my spaghetti noodle ankles require. They go on easily and can be snugged up quite tightly with the velcro strap and upper ski style buckle. The quick lace system is convenient too. I can reach down while on the ice and make any adjustments. My only concern - not the seller's fault - is one skate blade is not straight/flat. It is at least 1/32" out of flat lengthwise - maybe the reason for the return?. Not sure if I notice while skating due to rocker of blade, but I will put it in my press when the weather is warmer and see if it can be fixed. Otherwise, thank you for filling my order and providing fast delivery. I am having fun learning to skate again; have progressed during the second session to doing crossovers again from 25 years ago on figure skates. I am 72 years old and not a strong skater but enjoy doing it.

old man skates

finally replaced my 25 yr old Bauers - that gave me years of good service,
also skated long blades thanks to Jamie Hess. Now 79, maybe care-free skating days over but the K2s certainly an advance

Perfect for me

These skates are better than I expected. They are super warm and very comfortable. The quick pull to tighten the laces is awesome and quick. It tightens very evenly. Takes a second to get them unloosened, but they don't loosen up while in use. And if you need to tighten them up a bit after a minute of skating, its simple to pull the rip cord to tighten them up on the fly.
