The North Face
Americans have exploring and risk taking in their DNA. From the tribes crossing the land bridge from Asia to the Vikings to Columbus, a sensibility of wandering has always been a part of the people of this continent. In 1966 when a pair of hikers started this business in San Francisco aimed at their fellow hikers, well, no one could have pictured the raging success of The North Face. Making and selling outdoor wear for men and women for the most extreme of conditions is what they do. And they do it better than anyone.
