Wilson Tennis Balls

As the Official Ball of the U.S. Open since 1979, Wilson is a huge tennis ball seller in the United States. With its beginnings in the 1910’s, it now makes over 100 million balls per year. Most of its balls are made in Thailand. While U.S. based, it is a subsidiary of a group of companies led by the Chinese firm Anta. In 2020, it also became the official ball for the French Open.

What is the difference between Wilson Regular and Extra Duty balls?

Wilson extra duty balls have a more durable cover and are designed to be played on hard courts and have black lettering. The regular duty balls are made for clay or grass courts and have red lettering but can be used on hard courts too.


When are High Altitude balls used?

High altitude balls are designed for play at altitudes above 3500 feet.
